Multimedia Gone Green

March.06.2007

In Marin County you have no shortage of green businesses. Our neighbors, Ursa Minor Arts and Media shine as an example of a great big jolly green giant in the area of multimedia and communication.

The massive complex just across the way from us reminds us of where we want to be in a few years. As you enter the building you are greeted by the friendly receptionist sitting behind the reclaimed wood counter. Swinging by the conference room you see a bunch of hip, savvy, designers, artists and programmers seated in chairs recycled from old Coke and Pepsi bottles staring at a sexy plasma screen—reviewing projects with their clients. Passing through the hall lined with design stations you realize that the beams supporting the hall area are made of an old barn house. As if this was not impressive enough a series of monitors display crazy arrangements of various projects the company proudly displays. The whole place is monumental—containing a full sound and video stage for recording music, voice and video—you make your way down to the kitchen, where organic meals are cooked daily for the lucky inhabitants of this haven of creativity.

Working on a number of projects with the company has been a pleasure and given us fulfillment knowing that even a well oiled company like Ursa Minor can find inspiration in working with our humble studio. A big thumbs up to our jolly green neighbor—Ursa Minor.
