Alian scours the Book Expo America in NYC

Damn have we been busy. In early June the three of us (and my wife and boy) flew out to New York where we attended the Book Expo America (BEA) at the magnificent Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Anatomy of the Alian Logo

For those who care or are remotely curious, the name Alian was a blend of the names of Alian Design's principles—Alan & Ian—hence, Al+ian = Alian. It is pronounced with a slight french flare, like such: Aa-lee-ann.

The Longevity of Design

At Alian Design we believe that good design comes from a lot of factors. One of those is being healthy and having fun and staying fit. While it is true we are all vegetarians and bike to work everyday just so we can bounce on our yoga balls while we design for you, we also know how to have a happy happy friday—if you know what I mean;)

So, as promised. Our DRUPAL site is coming together nicely. We have still to add "The Lab" which will feature our experimental works as well as personal tid bits that you might find interesting. Also, the home page will soon be revised to include a nice portal to some cool stuff to wet your whistle. We are always working on keeping our portfolio work updated to feature the very best. Over time the "Work" section will thin out considerably to feature an even sweeter condensation of Alian's best work.

Upcoming Title from the Alian Lab: The Works, Alian Design

Sometime in the not-to-distant future (hopefully), Alian Design wants to publish a compendium of our work. If not for the sole reason that we want to do some fun print tricks and binding techniques. Perhaps a prequel to the book will be a limited edition, hand-bound version that we will give to select, special people;)
